Brothers Eric (L) and James Gardner with Jim's son Ethan Gardner listen to State SenatorThomas Libous address a rally of landowners in Bainbridge, New York Sunday afternoon. The Gardners operate a 500 acre farm in Long Eddy (Town of Hancock), NY some of which they hope is soon drilled for natural gas. There are approximately 16,800 households in NY State supporting natural gas development of the Marcelus Shale Formation. Landowners have formed coalitions to encourage speedier development of new DEC regulations for safe drilling. NYS lags behind neighboring Pennsylvania prompting the joint coalition rally Sunday. "I think it's good they're finally getting something going," said Jim Gardner. "Instead of more lies, we're finally getting some truth."
